West System International (WSI) has announced that its PRO-SET® adhesive epoxy systems have received certification from Lloyd’s Register. The certifications are in addition to two others announced earlier this year for WSI and provide international recognition of the high quality and standard of the epoxy systems and their suitability for marine construction.
Lloyd’s Register sets safety and quality standards and supports the development of new technologies within the marine industry. The certification ensures products maintain international safety, quality and operational standards.
Ian Oliver, Managing Director of Wessex Resins and Adhesives, says: “Further PRO-SET epoxy certifications from Lloyd’s Register are another great step for WSI and our PRO-SET epoxies. We’re delighted that these products are internationally recognised across the marine industry for their performance.”
Lloyd’s Register certifications have been gained for the PRO-SET 170 General Purpose Adhesive Epoxy, PRO-SET 175 with 275 Medium Cure Adhesive Epoxy and PRO-SET 176 with 276 Slow Cure Super-Toughened Adhesive Epoxy. The certifications approve the adhesives for applications in bonding and laminating of wood (including plywood), GRP, aluminium, mild steel, or any combinations of these.
Earlier this year, WSI announced that PRO-SET laminating epoxy systems received certification from Lloyd’s Register. The certification has been gained for PRO-SET LAM epoxies 125/224/226/229 and 237. The range has recently been reformulated and expanded to better meet the demands of modern composite manufacturing.
