Wessex Resins & Adhesives was founded in 1981.
The development of specialist underwater epoxies, initially for the rigorous demands of the Ministry of Defence and global marine sectors. These formulations have since evolved into indispensable solutions, relied upon by marine industries, dock and harbour authorities, and the demanding offshore oil sectors worldwide.
A partnership between two well-established businesses is formed to bring WEST SYSTEM® and other key brands global.
The history of WEST SYSTEM Epoxy began in the 1960s. Wessex Resins & Adhesives started to supply the flagship brand to other boat builders and restorers to Europe, Middle East & Africa under a licence from Gougeon Brothers, Inc.
Company growth demanded bigger manufacturing space, and we acquired the Woolston site in Southampton, UK.
Company growth necessitated our move to Sholing in Southampton, UK from the Woolston site, where we acquired a larger manufacturing facility to expand further.
We introduced PRO-SET® Epoxy, under license from Gougeon Brothers, Inc. to deliver high-performance epoxy solutions to composite manufacturers across Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Utilised in applications for world-class racing and the creation of lightweight composite structures within industries including automotive and marine.
With the growth of the company, we moved to Romsey from our previous facility in Woolston. Starting with the bare foundations up, we have since upgraded and invested in the Romsey factory with increased manufacturing space.
Wessex Resins & Adhesives partnered with Steve Vick International to supply Wessex Resins & Adhesives products to multiple sectors including Oil & Gas. Our partnership has continued for over 25 years.
Licenced manufacturers of Entropy Resins® from Gougeon Brothers, Inc. bringing innovative biobased epoxy solutions to Europe, Middle East & Africa.
With the growth in the company, we needed to expand our facilities to cater for increasing need and demand from global sales.
